Here it goes. My adventure into the uncharted waters of blogging. I guess you could say I'm losing my blogging virginity if you want to put it that way. The task was amazingly simple for what I thought might be a half hour journey through many screens of filling out info and accepting terms of various agreements. On the contrary, there was only a few screens with easy to follow instructions, and I was done. Of course I have just barely scraped the surface of what blogging.com has to offer. I hope I continue to be satisfied with all that it has to offer.
In my short blogging history it seems that blogging has many things in common with facebook and myspace, but it also seems to have a lot of different options and opportunities as well. Aesthetically they look a little bit different of course, but the main difference that I think they have is that facebook and myspace are more oriented to connecting people so that they can have informal conversations with each other or talk about what they are doing this weekend. Blogging in my opinion is used by people for many different things. Many opinions are transferred between people who have little or no relations to each other. Blogging is a place where one can spread his ideas to multiple people around the internet. Depending which blog and what you are talking about, I have a feeling that many arguments go on over the web in this way.
So far the experience of creating a blog has been interesting, and I hope to further explore the opportunities of what blogger.com has to offer as well as blogging in general. I can see where blogging can be very fun and will open up a lot of doors on the internet as I further use blogging. These are my first thoughts on my new experience with blogging.
